How much does a website cost in Bangladesh in 2026?
Between ৳4,000 and ৳2,50,000, and that range is useless to you on its own. What matters is which end you belong at, and what the cheap end actually costs once you add the second year. This page gives you the real market rates, the recurring costs most quotes leave out, and the questions that tell you whether a quote is honest.
What the market actually charges
These are the ranges you will be quoted in Bangladesh right now, by type of site and by who is building it. I checked these against published agency pricing in September 2026 rather than guessing.
| What you want | Freelancer | Mid agency | Larger agency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single landing page | ৳4,000–12,000 | ৳12,000–28,000 | ৳28,000–55,000 |
| Business site, 5–8 pages | ৳8,000–18,000 | ৳20,000–45,000 | ৳50,000–90,000 |
| Blog or content site | ৳10,000–22,000 | ৳25,000–55,000 | ৳55,000–1,00,000 |
| WooCommerce store | ৳25,000–55,000 | ৳50,000–1,10,000 | ৳1,10,000–2,50,000 |
| Custom web application | ৳40,000–85,000 | ৳80,000–2,00,000 | ৳2,00,000+ |
You will also see advertised packages well below the freelancer column — WooCommerce stores at ৳11,800, business sites at ৳6,500. Those are real offers. The section below on what gets cut explains what you are buying at that price, and it is not nothing, but it is not a store either.
The costs that are not in the quote
Almost every quote you receive covers the build only. The site still has running costs, and most first-time buyers find out about them in month two.
| Item | Cost | How often |
|---|---|---|
| .com domain | ৳1,200–1,800 | Every year |
| .com.bd domain | ৳1,200–2,500 | Every year |
| Shared hosting | ৳2,000–6,000 | Every year |
| SSL certificate | Free with Let's Encrypt | — |
| Premium theme or plugins | ৳2,000–8,000 | One-off, sometimes annual renewal |
| Maintenance | ৳3,000–8,000 | Monthly, optional but see below |
Watch the SSL line on any quote
If someone is charging you thousands of taka a year for an SSL certificate on a normal business website, ask why. Let's Encrypt is free, every decent host supports it, and it gives your visitors exactly the same padlock. Paid certificates exist for specific reasons; a five-page company site is not one of them.
Why the ৳8,000 site often costs more than the ৳35,000 one
This is the part the price-list pages leave out, and it is the only part that saves you money.
At the bottom of the market the build is usually a bought theme with the demo content swapped out. That is a legitimate way to get a site up, and for some businesses it is genuinely enough. The problem is what comes with it.
- The domain and hosting are often in the developer's account, not yours. When you want to move, you cannot. I have seen businesses pay a second developer to rebuild from scratch because nobody could get the login for the first one.
- Nothing gets updated. Twelve months later the site is running an outdated WordPress core and eleven outdated plugins, and one of them has a known vulnerability. The rebuild after a hack costs more than the original build.
- It was never tested on a phone. Most of your visitors are on one.
- There are no backups. So when something does break, there is nothing to restore.
- You cannot edit it. Every text change means messaging the developer, and they stopped replying in March.
Cheap is fine when you know what you are buying. It stops being cheap when the year-two bill is a rebuild.
What actually moves the price
When two quotes for "a business website" differ by ৳30,000, one of these is usually the reason. Ask which.
Page count and how different they are
Ten pages using the same three layouts is a small job. Five pages that each need their own design is a bigger one. Ask how many distinct templates the quote covers, not how many pages.
Who writes the content
This is the single most common cause of both cost overruns and delays. If you supply finished text and images, the build is faster and cheaper. If the developer has to write it, that is a separate skill and it should be a separate line on the quote. If neither of you writes it, the project stalls for two months and nobody's fault.
Theme versus custom build
A well-chosen theme, configured properly, is the right answer for most business sites and there is no shame in it. Custom design costs more and is worth it when your brand needs to look unlike anyone else. Be suspicious of "custom" in a quote under ৳40,000 — it usually means a theme with the colours changed.
Payments, if you are selling
bKash, Nagad, SSLCommerz and card payments each need setting up and testing, and some need business documents you may not have yet. A store quote without a line for payment integration is not a complete quote.
Bangla content
A bilingual site is meaningfully more work: two sets of content, font handling that actually renders Bangla properly, and a language switcher that does not break your URLs. Decide before the build starts, not after.
Speed and structure
Any developer can produce something that looks right in a screenshot. Making it load quickly on a mobile connection in Chattogram is a different job, and it is usually the difference between the low and middle columns of that first table.
What happens after launch
A quote with no answer to this is incomplete. Thirty days of fixes? Nothing? A monthly plan? It changes what the number means.
Six questions before you pay anyone
- Will the domain and hosting be registered in my name, with my email? If the answer is anything other than a straight yes, walk.
- Can I edit the text myself afterwards, without calling you?
- What is included after launch, and for how long?
- Is the design custom or a theme? Either is fine. Being told the wrong one is not.
- Who writes the content? Settle this before the price is agreed.
- Show me three sites you have built. Then open them on your phone and see how long they take to load.
That last one takes two minutes and tells you more than the rest combined.
A note on paying up front
Full payment before any work is a bad idea, and so is refusing to pay anything. The normal arrangement is a deposit to start, the balance on completion, and for larger jobs a payment at an agreed midpoint. Anyone insisting on 100% up front is asking you to carry all of the risk.
What I charge
So you can place me against that table: business site builds start at ৳37,000, speed optimization on an existing site at ৳12,000, and monthly maintenance at ৳12,000. WooCommerce depends on how many products and which payment methods, so it gets quoted per project rather than from a list.
That puts me above the cheapest local packages and below most agencies, which is an honest place to be. What the price includes: the domain and hosting registered in your name, a build you can edit yourself, mobile testing before launch, and thirty days of free fixes after it.
I have built and repaired more than 300 WordPress sites over five years, mostly for clients in the US and Europe — 5.0 across 231 Fiverr reviews and 100% job success on Upwork. You can check both before you contact me, and you should.
Questions people ask
Is a freelancer or an agency better?
An agency gives you cover when one person is unavailable and a process when things go wrong. A freelancer gives you the person doing the work and a lower price. For a five-to-ten page business site, a good freelancer is usually the better value. For something your revenue depends on daily, the agency's redundancy starts to be worth paying for.
How long should it take?
A landing page in a few days. A business site in one to three weeks. A store in three to six. Almost every delay past that is waiting on content from the client, which is worth knowing before you blame the developer.
Do I need .com.bd or is .com fine?
.com is fine and often better, since it costs less, transfers more easily and carries no disadvantage in search. Take .com.bd when the local signal genuinely matters to your customers, or when you want to hold both.
Is a Facebook page enough?
For a small local shop taking orders in the comments, sometimes. Not once you want to be found in Google, take online payments, or look credible to a corporate buyer or an overseas importer. A page you do not own also disappears the day the platform decides it should.
Do I really need a maintenance plan?
If your site takes payments or handles customer data, yes. If it is a five-page brochure and being offline for two days would cost you nothing, you can run updates yourself every month or two and be fine. Anyone who tells you every site needs a plan is selling one.
Prices checked September 2026 against published Bangladeshi agency and freelancer rates. Ranges move; treat them as a guide for judging a quote, not a fixed rate card.
